and start again. by *karina, Tear it apart and start again, might a lyric to a fantastic lyric, but this is exactly what has happened here. *karina has brought us a totally different approach to vector shading. It’s defiantly something new and amazing. (Suggested by `lemontea and Featured by `voodoo-prophet)

I like the colors! That'st he best thing about vector work, in my opinion, is the ability to use a non-conventional pallette. Not to mention, I love earth tones, and especially oranges. That hair looks great. That HAT looks totally awesome! I like the position of the face within the view. Very nicely done. I'm also happy to see that you seem to be getting a bit more liberal with the hatching!

It always feels a bit heavy-handed for me, too. But then I look at my work when I'm all done and it looks good, so I say "yay!"

Plus, the cool thing about YOUR style is that I've never really seen vector work with hatching before! It's always very open and graphic and blocky. Yours is much more along the lines of having a more traditionally illustrative look, which is refreshing to see in vector art.

Awesome shading, awesome detail.

This isn't a kind of portrait that you see everyday. I'm quite liking this!

This is a truely awesome vector. It looks like something a printmaker would make. The colors and hatching all remind me of inks. I just like the overall warmth and composition. Extremely nice.

ive never seen crosshatching mixed with vectors before! the detail in the hat is enough to make my eyes water. ive been studying color theory this semester, and i must say that these colors are divine! dont let anyone say different. they may not be usual, but if the go togerther to create a desired effect, what more can you ask? brilliant work
